I'm guessing

     Scope::insert(Dsymbol*s)
     {
         if (VarDeclaration *vd = s->isVarDeclaration())
         {
             // ..


is of interest. Is there another member function called everytime 
a Dsymbol is referenced?

I'm guessing MODFlags plays a role here aswell.
