A fresh install from d-apt on Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit, and everything worked fine.

test.d
----
import std.stdio;

void main()
{
    writeln("Hello world!");
}
----

$ rdmd test.d
Hello world!

$ dmd -run test.d
Hello world!
