Back in my younger days, I used to go to nightclubs a lot. Around 9 or 
so, they'd start the music. Everyone would sit on the sidelines, eying 
each other, with nobody at all on the floor. They'd even sit leaning 
forward on their toes, ready to spring up. Eventually, after 10 to 30 
minutes, one couple would get on the floor, and suddenly, fwoop, 
everybody else did, too.

Very few people want to go first. They wait for validation from other 
people. Tiobe is handy for that - it gives people who are hesitant about 
D a reason to take a second look.
