OT: Cell Phone Outage in Germany

According to the info of the company

the reason was a bug ("Grund war ein Softwarefehler").

Other sources say, that the bug broke two of the three fundamental 
servers. The software on those servers was introduced "last year" and 
therefore had been working for at least three month without any 
published warnings.

Interestingly such outages are not published in the USA since 2004 
according to
