An alternative: I would point out that LDC2 is 64-bit and open source.  It
lets you target a multitude of architectures, including, recently, OpenCL
for GPGPU.  Heck, you might even be able to cross compile from Linux and
target your system of choice.

So if you really want 64-bit support for platform X, you could likely add it
to LDC2 without too much work.
