xfbuild works perfectly well for D2, it just requires D1/Tango to 
compile it. There are pre-compiled binaries available.

I'm using redo to build my D stuff - https://github.com/apenwarr/redo. 
Ideally I'd port it to D then I could write my build scripts in D, I've 
not had chance though.
