As Jonathan said, this example is quite bad in the empty lines vs code 
lines ratio.

But I general I do put an empty newline before and after each statement.

BTW, I don't have any empty newlines in my grocery list :) . It's more 
of bullet point list. Or I use an app on my phone which handles all that 
for me.
