No.
I've been using D since 2012 and have ported two large personal 
academic codebases to it.
Ignoring the issues D has or pretending they don't exist isn't 
helping D.

Rust had explosive adoption despite targeting the same exact 
niche as D, there is **not** a lack of developers that want an 
alternative to C++.

The entire point of this thread is what is D doing to keep up 
with Rust and C++17, the answer seems to be... not much.
Maybe the developers around here haven't bothered to check C++17 
features recently I guess.
