Why is D unpopular?

+100 to all of those things.

Regrettably this community doesn't see much value in syntax 
sugar, and are fine with more bulky library solutions instead.

It's not even about the amount of keystrokes like many here 
claim, it's about readability. All these little things add up as 
the code grows, and it makes C# a joy for me to read and write.
