D is Walter's invention, his baby and life-time project. It's his 
legacy to this world.

It's what Walter Bright will be remembered for in the future 
world, after his death, on Wikipedia etc.
His contribution to the world of programming languages and 
compilers.

Some people just don't get it. Some specific people will not be 
remembered at all, nobody cares if they ever lived.
They didn't contribute anything useful to the world at all, so 
they will be forgotten forever.

It is how it is.
